Show Cedar City League of Women Voters launches annual finance campaign The annual finance drive of .he League of Women Voters ,vl be conducted during the nonth of January. Individuals and bu.sinesscss who have ,upportod the League through contributions in the past have eceived letters this past week asking their continued support sup-port of League activities in his community. Seventy-five percent of the money will ibe spent on local programs and projects. These programs are mainly in the area of Voters Service, such as sponsoring candidates' nights, heading up registration registra-tion and election drives, and supplying voter information. In addition, members study many of the Important issues of the day, and disseminate information concerning them, especially with regard to the environment, human resources, resourc-es, education and government reform. The main goal of the league is to promote an informed citizenry, cit-izenry, who will vote, participate partici-pate in his government, ant be willing to work toward at taining the ideals of self-governing society. Persons, businesses, or organizations, or-ganizations, who may wish to help further the work of the League of Women Voters, and may not have received the finance drive letter, may send a contribution by mailing it to Box 728, Cedar City. |
