Show Brian Head schedules races; announces new mid-week rates Brian Head, Ltd. announced to the public today the start of an annual ski racing program pro-gram and the beginning of a trial period of mid-week rate reductions for Southern Utah residents to run from January 25 through February 5. Area manager Corky Cayton stated that in cooperation with the Brian Head Racing Club, a series of ski races will be held at the Brian Head area. The first of the series of six races will be held Saturday, Sat-urday, Jan. 30. Called the Mac Lyman Memorial, the race will be a Giant Slalom run down the Ute Trail of the Number One Chair lift. Bill Ronnow, spokesman for the racing club, explained that racers will be placed in classifications according to age and sex. Points will be awarded for the first five places in each classification. At the conclusion of the six scheduled races to be held through late March, the top three point earners in each classification will be awarded trophies. enter into one of the following classes: Professional, for ski ' instructors, patrolmen, etc.; i Adult, student, ages 15 to 20; Junior ages 10 to 14; and child ; ages 9 and under. "We have many ! new facilities and services at Brian Head," stated Cayton, "in addition to excellent skiing. ski-ing. The $6.00 day pass will be offered at $4.00 January 25-29 and February 1-5. Brian Head also announced the completion of the remodeling remodel-ing of the Bavarian Inn. The Fondue Room bn the lower ( level of the lodge is now open I for evening enjoyment Brian Head has reported excellent skiing almost the entire season sea-son and the outlook Is for more of the same. The course will be set on various runs at Brian Head and will vary In difficulty to offer all skiers a fair chance to compete. These races do, however, limit participation partic-ipation to a select few. The races we will sponsor will be open to all the skiing public, many of whom may never have had the opportunity to race.
