Show 1 1'iPlAli Lffl HOWARD D. KNIGHT Howard D. Knight this week's LDS Institute speaker Howard D. Knight, President of the Parowan Stake, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Parowan City Post master, will be the guest lec- - ture at the LDS Institute Forum Tuesday, Jan. 26. Forum events, which are held at the Institute at 12 noon arc open to the public. A native of Sigurd he graduated grad-uated from North Sevier High School and attended Branch Agricultural College in Cedar City. He married Margaret Hatch in 1911. In 1955 he was called as Bishop of the Parowan First Ward and a year later he was called to preside over the Parowan Stake, a position he currently holds with the church. He is also serving as Postmaster at Parowan, a posi-tion posi-tion he has held since 1955. Prior to that time he was cm-ployed cm-ployed by the Utah Construction Construc-tion and Mining Company west of Cedar City. Civically, Knight has served as president of the Parowan Chamber of Commerce and was for a number of years a j member of the Volunteer Fire Department. He has also serv- j ed for a numbr of years on the board of directors of the Utah Alcoholism Foundation. |
