Show Lions and Ladies join to hold dinner meeting The regular meeting of the Pa rowan Lions Club was hold last Thursday evening in thv student center of (he high school. The meeting was in the form of a Ladies Night, celebrating the sixth birthday of the club, and Osmer Niel-sen, Niel-sen, president, was in charge. In business matters which came before the the rmvting a motion was passed in which the club pledged to sponsor a boy to Utah Boys' State held in June of each year. The boy is to be a member' of this year's Junior class at (the Tar-owan Tar-owan High fcehool, "with" the idea being that he spend the Boys' State week, training in leadership, which will be used during his senior year at the school. The names of two local residents res-idents were proposed for membership mem-bership in the club. They were Jim Wadsworth, sponsored by Wlmnw Mortensen, and Ken-yon Ken-yon Robinson, sponsored by Leo Hall. Eugene Robb reported on the bantam basketball games and presented the club with a certificate cer-tificate and trophy. He also thanked the lub for sponsoring sponsor-ing the team'. 1 The Lloiis District Governor for 28-H of Nephi will meet with the club at its 'mooting, on Mar. 27, it was announced |
