Show Paroyyan teams win first and third in Bantam basketball Two Parowan teams in the county bantam basketball program, were victorious in their games played as a part of a six-team tournament held in the Parowan High gym on Monday of last week, according accord-ing to Eugene Robb, who assisted as-sisted in the meet, and was manager of the Parowan Lions Club team. Parowan City team won first place by taking a close 38 to 37 win over the Gulf Oil team of Cedar City, which placed second in the meet. The Parowan Lions team took third place by downing the Iron County Record team by a 46 to 21 score in the opening open-ing game of the meet. Following the playoff trophies troph-ies were presented to the top three teams, Parowan City, Guli! Oil and Parowan Lions. The Lions club has arranged for the trophies won by the Parowan teams to be displayed display-ed in the trophy case at the Parowan High School and invites in-vites the public to see them. As a result of winning the tournament as well as the title ti-tle during league play, the Parowan City team, which is coached by Blaine Hyatt will go on to district competition and will meet the winning team from the Nephi District in a game that will be played in Parowan during the week of March, Robb states.
