Show Parowan Second Ward groups to sponsor observance of Pioneer Day in Parowan The Parowan Second Ward is preparing a full day's program pro-gram for the observance of Utah's Pioneer Day, Friday, July 21, according to Bishop Rupert S. Hulet. All auxiliary organizations in the ward are cooperating in the program for the day, which will begin early in the morning, run throughout the day and continue con-tinue in a lunch selling program pro-gram Saturday afternoon at the baseball games. The day's activities will begin be-gin with a flag raising ceremony cere-mony at 9.45 a. m. in front of the chapel and recreation hall.. This will be followed by a miniature parade set to begin at 10 a. m, The route of the parade will be around the Church block and everyone every-one is invited to participate in the event. The parade will be followed follow-ed by a public meeting to be held in the ward cultural hall with the program to feature early day pioneer stories. The public is urged to attend this event. The meeting will be followed follow-ed by games on the church lawn, to run to noon when lunch will be served. This will consist of sloppy joes, salads, sa-lads, cake and drinks for everyone. In the afternoon there will be a program of sports on the park with concession to go along with them, running until 8 p. m. The sports program pro-gram will consist of raw egg throwing, a dunking pool, a bucking barrel, dart throwing, ball throwing, burlap sack racing, etc. Then there will be a children's dance at 2 p. m. in the cultural hall. The eating concessions will be set up next to the baseball base-ball diamond where the Senior Sen-ior Little League tournament Will be held Friday, beginning begin-ning at 4 p. m, to furnish refreshments re-freshments and eats for those who come to attend the baseball base-ball games. These concessions will carry over to Saturday afternoon when the second round of the meet will be played here. |
