Show Karl R, Braithwaite accepts legislative assistant position Dr. Karl R. Braithwaite, son of President and Mrs. Royden C. Braithwaite, has recently accepted the position of legislative leg-islative assistant to Senator Joseph M. Montoya (D-N. M.). He and his wife, Jane, and children Scott and Michelle have been residing in Washington, Wash-ington, D. C, since June 1 of this year. The Braithwaites previously lived in Durham, N. C, where Karl was an assistant professor profes-sor in the Department of Pol-it: Pol-it: cal Science at Duke University Univer-sity for the past three years. Ir. addition to his work at the university, both Karl and Jane htve worked as volunteer teachers in pre-school programs pro-grams for black children. Karl has also served a two-year Stake mission for the LDS Church. Karl was graduated from Cedar City High School and College of Southern Utah, where he was active in athletics ath-letics and student government. He was graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Utah in 1964. He received the Kirkpatrick Award for the highest scholastic achievement in his graduating class. He attended the University of Wisconsin on a NASA Fellow-ship, Fellow-ship, where he received his M. S. in 1965 and his PhD. in 1967. |
