Show Parowan Lions set birthday party. White Cane drive The regular meeting of the Parowan Lions Club was held recently at the Bel Aire Cafe, with Kenyon Robinson conducting con-ducting the meeting in the absence of President Eugene Robb. Several matters of business came before and was acted upon during the session, it is reported by Ted Burton. Included In-cluded were the task of getting get-ting the Christmas lights and decorations on Main Street down and put away, and he states this was done Saturday, with about 36 man hours used in the project, with the committee com-mittee expressing apprecia-for apprecia-for help given. Plans for the annual birthday birth-day party of the club were made by those present. This event is slated to be held at the Bel Aire Cafe on Thursday, Thurs-day, Feb. 26 to begin at 7:30 p. m. Mrs. Burton states. This event is an annual one and all members and their wives 1 and partners are urged to attend.. at-tend.. It will feature a dinner, a special program and Lion Max Warner, District Governor of 28H, of the Payson club, with be the guest speaker. Plans were made for the clubs annual eye conservation conserva-tion program with the result that they will make the an-nal an-nal White Cane Drive during the week of Feb. 15 to 21. During Dur-ing this week a Lion will con- tact every home selling the "White Cane", an emblem of the program. The funds derived de-rived from the drive is used to help with eye treatment, and to purchase glasses for those persons who need both, and are unable to get such help. The Bantam Basketball program pro-gram which the club is sponsoring, spon-soring, was discussed, and a check for $50.00 was appropriated appropri-ated to help carry on the program. pro-gram. The next luncheon meeting of the club will be Thursday evening, Feb. 12 at the Bel Aire Cafe. |
