Show Water outlook behind in Iron County The February 1 outlook for water In the watersheds of Cedar Ce-dar and Parowan Canyon were far below normal despite a-bove a-bove average forecasts for northenn Utah. Surveys made this week by Cloyd Day of Soil Conservation Conserva-tion Service and Paul Fullmer of the Forest Service disclosed that all snow courses were below be-low normal in tse area. A report by area follows: Midway: Snow depth 23 inches in-ches with six inches of water. At the same time in 19G9 snow depth was 81.9 inches with 22 Inches of water. In 1968 water content was 14.5 inches. Long time average for the course is 12.2 Inches of water. Webster's Flat: 18.3 inches of snow containing 4.8 inches of water. In 1969 snow depth stood at 70 inches with 19.6 Inches of water. In 1968 the course contained 11 inches of water and the average is 8.9 inches. Urie Flat contained 2.8 inches inch-es of water in 8.9 inches of i snow. Average for the course ; is 4.1 Inches of water. In 1969 ( snow depth was 39 inches on February 1 with 10.3 inches of i water. ! Tall Polls: Snow depth was 26.8 inches with 6.3 water. 1969 figures were 43.5 snow and 10.3 water and in 1968 water wa-ter content was 10.3 inches. Brian Head course had 39.3 inches of snow with 10 inches of water. Last year the snow depth for the same period was 62.9 inches containing 16.2 water. Snow depth in 1968 ,, was 52 with 13.3 water. . . jf At the College ranch in Ce-i Ce-i dar Canyon, snow depth was I 2.9 inches with 1 inch of wa- ter. Last year the ranch had I 46 inches of snow with 12.1 water content and 27.5 inches I of snow at the same period in I 1968. |
