Show Snowmobile racing planned at I Southern Utah Winter Classis As a feature part of the Southern Utah (Color Country) Winter Classic, there will be an entire day of snowmobile racing on Sunday, February 22, it was announced today by Bud Green, President of Color Country Snowmobile Club. In making this disclosure, Green stated that the competi- tion will involve a 15 mile cross county raace' following a course leading from Midway Junction (U-14 and U-143) to Brianhead Ski Resort. Immediately Imme-diately following, there will be oval track and drag racing on an eighth-mile long strip. As an added attraction spectators can watch the thrill seekers do snowmobile jumping from an inclined ramp. Also various snowmobile dealers will provide pro-vide demonstration rides for interested persons. Registration will be open at 9:00 o'clock Sunday morning for amateur drivers operating strickly factory stock machines. ma-chines. PnmnotiHnn io ririrfnA mtn four classes: Class A, 410--650 cc engines; Clas B, 380--440 ccs; Class C, 305--380 ccs and Class D, 305 ccs and under. Trophies will be awarded to each class winner in both the cross country and the oval track ranees. ; Everyone in the area is joining join-ing in to make the Winter Classic the feature drawing card of the Southern Utah winter season. Drivers are expected ex-pected from all over the in-termountain in-termountain area to participate partici-pate in these races, concluded Mr. Green. |
