Ground Breaking Held For New First Baptist Church An impressive ground break-in break-in service was conducted Friday at 7:00 p. in., June 21, at the I'irsl baptist Church, located at 321 West 200 North when 41 people were present for the services. ser-vices. An inspiring report was given of the Southern Baptist work m this area. Rev. Harold Diilman, former pastor of the church, now pastor of the First Baptist Church, Layton, Utah gave an informal history of the church. The enur i was started as a mission, March 6, 1958 and was organized as a local Church January 26, 1900. Rev. Charles Ray, Area Missionary Mis-sionary of Southern Baptist work in Utah gave the Message based on Matthew 16:13-20. A. W. Albrecht Al-brecht led the music for the service. ser-vice. Rev. Medford Hutson, pastor pas-tor was in charge of the service. A new chapel is to be' erected on the east side of the present building, known as the old Spils-bury Spils-bury home. It is to be a brick structure and will seat 140 people. peo-ple. The building is expected to be completed within the next four or five months. |
