Show I Governor's Reception Highlights Opening of Festival The Utah Shakespearean Fes-Uival's Fes-Uival's fifth annual season got off to a brilliant beginning on Monday evening with the governor's gover-nor's reception and presentation presenta-tion of the first play "The Taming Tam-ing of the Shrew." Utah's first citizens, Governor I and Mrs. Calvin L. Rampton, were on hand for the gala event I and they were joined at the reception re-ception by nearly 300 honored ! guests from throughout the state and community. USU President Attends Among those in attendance was President Daryl Chase of the Utah State University at Logan. Other dignitaries participated in the pre-play reception which featured fea-tured an exquisite buffet luncheon lunch-eon prepared under the direction of Sherrill Davis of the Colege of Southern Utah food services. Festival Entertainers Special entertainment at the reception was provided by the Festival musicians and dancers after which the group moved to the outdoor theatre to join with over 700 patrons who witnessed the opening night production. A beautiful evening under the stars set the Festival off to a rousing start. Tuesday night the production of "Julius Caesar" was staged followed by "The Two Gentlemen Gentle-men of Verona," Wednesday evening. eve-ning. The three plays will be rotated, playing again Thursday, Friday and Saturday through three weeks with each production to be staged six times. "The Taming Tam-ing of the Shrew" will be seen each Monday and Thursday evenings eve-nings during the period; "Julius Caesar" each Tuesday and Friday, Fri-day, and "The Two Gentlemen of Verona" each Wednesday and Saturday evening. Director Named Directing the "Taming of the Shrew" is regular Festival director direc-tor Michael Addison with the founder of the Festival, Fred C. Adams, directing "The Two Gentlemen Gen-tlemen of Verona."
