Show Living in the Escalante Valley Moyle family while home for the services of their cousin, George Albert Moyle. Mrs. Hugh Holt and daughters Junell and Chirl, returned to Salt Lake City Monday after being be-ing with the Jack Moyle family and other relatives and friends for the past week. Mrs. James B. Moyle came back from San Juan county to be with his brother Jack and family for awhile following the death of their son George. Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and a grandson, Michael Moore of Long Beach, Calif., spent the 4th of July on Cedar Mountain. Carol Draper of the Logan Extension Ex-tension College was in the Valley Val-ley Sunday and Monday. Mr. Draper had business at St. George. Accompanying him was his father-in-law, Sam Austin of the Logan area, who visited his nephews the Moyle families. Lane Alberto will spend a couple of weeks with his brother-in-law and other relatives in California. Lane expects to leave this week after seeing his doctor. By George H. Moyle INDEPENDENCE DAY Residence of the Escalante Valley enjoyed the patriotic program pro-gram at Enterprise on the morning mor-ning of the Fourth of July and participated in other forms of the celebration. However, most of the residents, along with a good many from New Castle, Modena, Enterprise and other places gathered around the community com-munity building from 6 o'clock on to enjoy a ballgame between the married and single fellows; Shetland pony rides and lawn size tractor and trailer rides for the small ones. Also enjoyed were fish ponds, dart and throw carnival fun for all. Hamburgers, pop, pie, and ice cream was on sale by members of the Women's club. The winding up part of the evening was a display of fireworks fire-works sponsored by the Women's and Lions Clubs. GIRLS' CAMP The Uvada Stake MIA Girls' ficers. The camp was postponed a week owing to the death and services for George A. Moyle. SPECIAL SERVICE Special services were held by the Beryl Baptist Church at the Community Building Monday, July 11 under the direction of Rev. Carl Parrish. HERE AND THERE Mrs. Dorothy Gordon and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph D. Gardner, a son-in-law and daughter of Salt Lake City; also Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hester, son-in-law and daughter and small son, Steven, of El Canara, Calif, visited at the John McGarry home and others in the Valley enroute to California Califor-nia from Sat Lake City. Mrs. Rose Ann Phelps and small son from Layton, and Mr. and Mrs. James Morris and three daughters from the Los Angeles area are visiting for sometime with their folks, the Austin Camp was held at Zion Canyon Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Fri-day of last week under the direction direc-tion of the Stake YWMIA of- |
