Clifford Anker Gains Eagle Scout Rank In Court of Honor, Silver, Gold Palms Awarded Cliff oid VV. Anker, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond E. Anker was awarded the coveted Eagle award at the monthly Court of Honor of the Cedar Breaks District, Dis-trict, Boy Scouts of America, held Sunday evening In the Seventh Ward Chapel. Anker who has served as a Junior Scoutmaster for Troop 312 under Scoutmaster Clemont B. Adams, for. the past three vears. was accorded the coveted rank In a ceremony under the direction of A. Richard Olds. The latest Eagle Scout in the Cedar Breaks District has participated parti-cipated in the scouting program for a number of years. He has also attended two national Jamboree's, Jam-boree's, the first in Colorado Springs, Colo, in lW) and this past year in Valley Forge, Pa. The honor came to Anker just two days after his graduation from Cedar High School. In addition to the awarding of the Eagle a silver palm was awarded to another member of Troop 312, Don Adams, son of Scoutmaster Clemont B. Adams, and a gold palm was awarded to Robert G. Esplin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Garth Esplin of Troop 371. The palm awards are presented for continued work in merit badge accomplishments beyond the requirement of an eagle. Two life awards and seven star awards were also presented at the Court in addition to a host of merit badges. Another feature of the Court of Honor was the Tenderfoot Investiture In-vestiture which was presented by the chairman of the District Committee, Pearce Shelton. Next Court of Honor is slated for Sunday, June 20 with a District Dis-trict Board of Pevlevv to be held Tuesday evening, June 6 at the ROTC room at College of Southern South-ern Utah. |
