Show A. Wendell Gardner Called for Mission Field Duty A farewell testimonial honoring honor-ing Arthur Wendell Gardner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gardner oTTedar City, will be held Sunday Sun-day evening, Jan. 22 in the Fourth Ward chapel. Gardner has been called to serve a 30-month mission in New Zealand. Time of the testimonial has been set at 8 p. m. Everyone has been extended an Invitation to attend. Bishop LaNoir Jones of the Fourth Ward will conduct the program Sunday evening. Bishop Jones called Gardner to serve the mission and he was Interviewed by Apostle Mark E. Peterson. Gardner will enter the mission home In Salt Lake City on Feb. 1 and he expects to sail from San Francisco for New Zealand on Feb. 17. Headquarters for the New Zealand Mission is at Auckland, it is understood. Speakers at the testimonial will include Charles H. Esplln, Fernleigh Gardner and Bishop Jones. Remarks will be made by Arthur Gardner and a response will be heard from Wendell. Musical portion of the program wLU be furnished by Bernella Jones. Invocation will be spoken by Raymond Lunt and the benediction benedic-tion by B. Glen Kenney. Wendell is a graduate of the Cedar City school system and also of the Branch Agricultural College here. He received his bachelor's ba-chelor's degree in 1949 at the Utah State Agricultural College in Logan and continued his education edu-cation at Kansas State College where he received his master's degree in genetics. His master's degree will be bestowed in graduation grad-uation exercises at Kansas State in May of this year. |
