Soulier, i agricultural agent for the Union Pacific Railroad Company, the1 program will cover such items as: 1. Preparing land for efficient irrigation. i 2. Organic matter and soil structure. 3. Maintaining soil fertVity. 4. How to measure irrigation water and soil moisture. j 5. When to irrigate and how! much water to apply. 6. Management of water on western range. 7. Reseeding range lands. 8. Use of improved crop varieties var-ieties and strains. 9. Controlling weeds to conserve con-serve soil moisture. 10. Soil Conservation. During the visit Dr. Paul Chris- tensen, extension service soil conservationist, con-servationist, and Louis Jensen, extension agronomist, from the Utah State Agricultural College, will assist with the subject matter. mat-ter. Iron County agricultural agent, arrangements have been made for the FFA members in this area to attend the morning meetings at both Cedar City and Beryl. The afternoon sessions will be held fjom 1 to 3 p. m., at both stops, and will be open to the public. Farmers from Washington, Washing-ton, Kane and Garfield counties are invited to attend the afternoon after-noon sessions. |
