Show Maynard Dixon Art Collection Draws Good Response The Maynard Dixon art show at College of Southern Utah attracted at-tracted a large crowd to the works of the "painter of the west," during the opening Sunday Sun-day and the first part of the week. Dixon has nine paintings' and 32 drawings hanging for the month-long display. Among them are his "Men and Mountains" and "Destination Unknown." For more than half a century, Dixon painied ihe iue and landscape land-scape of the American West. He drew cowboys riding lonely trails, Navajos herding sheep in western wastes, covered wagons, pony express riders, and scouts of pioneer days. Many of these scenes are displayed in his drawings draw-ings and paintings' at the college. |
