Show Sportsmanship Contest Sponsored by Region The Parowan High School has entered a contest being sponsored sponsor-ed by the athletic officials of Region Re-gion Six. to encourage better sportsmanship by the students and townspeople at athletic games and contests held In the schools of the region. A trophy will be awarded to the school showing the best display of sportsmanship both in winning and losing such contests. Two sets of rules have been drawn up as follows: Rules Against, 1. Booing officials; offi-cials; 2, cheering when opponent fouls, and 3. Vulgar language. Ri-.'es for: 1, Applauding Injured In-jured player; 2, remaining quiet during foul shot; 3, cheer leader cooperation, and 4. friendliness to opposition, which Includes team, coaches and entire student body. Ten points are to be divided between schools, judging one-j half on team and one-half on student body, which also includes the generp.l public. Rules and regulations were formulated at a recont meeting of Region Six student officials at De.'ta. with Connell Mitchell, local student body president representing Parowan Par-owan High School. |
