Show i Sports Enthusiast Assumes Wildlife Office I The annual election meeting 'of the Southern Utah Wildlife Federation was held Saturday, Jan. 14 at Hotel El Escalante in Cedar City. Chester A. Thomas of the Zlon Park Rod and Gun Club was elected president for the 1956 calendar year. Norman Day of , Parowan is the outgoing presl-1 presl-1 dent, having served In the office ! since 1954. Mr. Thomas has been president of thc Zion Hark Rod and Gun Club for the past five years and Is well known In conservation circles in southern Utah. He is assistant sujerintendent of Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks a position he has occupied for the past eight years. ' The Southern Utah Federation is composed of conservation organizations or-ganizations in Hurricane, St. George, Cedar City, Parowan, Beaver, Pangultch and Mllford. Important objectives of the Fed-j eration are to encourage protec-j tlon and restoration of waters, ; wildlife, forest and field; to safeguard safe-guard public health by eliminat-i lng stream and lake pollution, to seek wise land and water use in ; the broad public Interest; to nur-: ture and improve wildlife stocks as well as to rehabilitate and re-j store fish and wildlife environment. environ-ment.
