Show Idaho Teams Ride High in ConfweiicePlay CONFERENCE STANDINGS Ricks 4 0 1.000 Boise 4 0 1.000 NNC 4 1 .800 Weber 1 2 -333 Carbon 1 3 .250 CSU 0 2 .000 Dixie 0 2 .000 Snow 0 4 .000 Southern Utah entries in the Intermountain Collegiate Athletic Athle-tic Conference, principally College Col-lege of Southern Utah, Dixie College Col-lege and Snow CoUege, fought a battle for cellar position last week In conference play. As a result of the first full week of play in the conference the three Utah teams chalked up a totaj of eight losses and a clean slate in the win column. The three are now vying, after two (Continued to Pago Fire) ICACRACE I (Continued from Pago Four) week's of action, for the cellar spot. On the top side of the totem pole are the three Idaho entries. Ricks College of Rexburg. Boise College of Boise, and Northwest Nazarene of Nampa, who are practically ruling the roost. Vikings Make Raid Ricks embarked on a three-game three-game road trip in.to Utah last week end and returned homo with a three-win no loss record. The Vikings had previously beaten NNC and are at present tied for top honors in the ICAC. Ricks downed Weber Thursday evening, 77 to 71, at Ogden. Friday Fri-day they moved to Ephraim for a game with the Snow Badgers and emerged with a sUm victory of 64 to 50. The score there was not Indicative of the game. Snow lead at halftlme and outscored the Vikings from the field. The 22 fouls in 31 attempts for Ricks spelled victory. Saturday night Ricks downed Carbon for its fourth straight victory. Boise and NNC in the meantime mean-time were entertaining the Broncos Bron-cos of CSU and the Rebels of Dixie. They stayed in their own back yard and controlled the action ac-tion all the way. CSU was beat-en beat-en 68 to 44 at Boise Friday night and 66 to 48 at Nampa Saturday. Dixie Clubbed NNC really clobbered Dixie Friday with a 104 to 46 victory, a point spread of 54 points, and Boise handed Dixie its second defeat Saturday while chalking up its fourth victory of the current cur-rent season. Boise and NNC have not strayed from the home courts as yet, however, wh'.'e Dixie and CSU. although on the bottom of the heap, now have one of their toughest road trips behind therrj. Action slows down this week, only three games on the ICAC slate. Friday evening the Broncos of CSU move into St. George for a battle of tradition and also a battle bat-tle to move out of the cellar spot. Saturday the two teams move to the CSU Memorial fieldhouse for the second conference game. This will complete the home and home series for these two teams. Friday night I he only other game of the week puts Weber at Rexburg against the Vikings. |
