Show PARAGONAH NEWS NOTES Mrs. Hilma Lamoreaux Mr. and Mrs. Clark Robb are proud grandparents again since the arrival of a seven pound, five ounce baby girl born on Tuesday of last week at the Iron County Hospital to Paul and Phyllis Douglas of Cantil, Calif. Mrs. Douglas has been here with her parents for the past several months and Mr. Douglas arrived In time to be present to welcome the new addition. The baby makes the 14th grand child for Mr. and Mrs. Robb, and she will be named Nina Marie. The infant son of Charles and 1 Lola Ann Boardman was released from the hospital on Thursday ; of last week after being treated ' for prematurity for more than ! a monthh. He has passed the ! 5'i pound mark now and seems , to be doing nicely at home. Mr. and Mrs. D. Amasa Stones traveled to Cedar City on Sunday ! to attend a family gathering at the Carlyle Mitchell home. The Alan Stones family of Parowanj accompanied them. i The occasion was to celebrate ; the birthday anniversary of the Mitchell's son, Elair, which came on Friday. ! Mr. and Mrs. Jay Maxwell and j three children of Cedar City were Sunday visitors at the Wilson I Lund home. , The prolonged cold weather i has brought additional problems ! to Paragonah as much of the ! water system has frozen and many homes are without culina-j culina-j ry water. Workers are very busy digging to the affected pipe lines, I thawing frozen areas and replacing replac-ing broken lines. Additional equipment was brought from Pa-rowan Pa-rowan to hasten the process. Mr. and Mrs. William S. Board-man Board-man have received word that their son. Gene, will be home from his LDS mission to England I the first week In February. They are to meet him In Salt Lake City. Mrs. Vada Topham of St l George and her sister, Mrs. Lucy Rcusch of Springdale, visited t briefly with Mrs. Bertha S. Top-ham Top-ham on Sunday. They were en-route en-route to Salt Lake City to see Ivan Topham who is In the Veterans Vet-erans Hospital. Mr. Topham has had an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Robinson and family were here from Cedar City to spend Sunday with relatives. rela-tives. They Joined other family members for dinner at the Errol Lamcreaux home. 1 A family gathering was held Saturday at the home of Mrs. Olive Edwards in honor of her son, Billy who was home on leave. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Edwards Ed-wards and family of Cedar City were here for the week end and the Reed Edwards family of Beaver Bea-ver and a Miss Blackburn from Minersville Joined the group. Family Fa-mily dinner was served. Billy left Sunday to go to Long Beach Calif., where he will board ship for his next assignment with the Navy. Mrs. Janine Manzione and her three children of Tooele arrived here Sunday evening to spend the week with the H. Revere Robinsons. Ro-binsons. Gordon is in Arizona for a time but is expected back next week end. Thomas A. Robinson arrived home early Thursday after a ten-day ten-day stay in Salt Lake City with the Elwin Talbot family. Mrs. Alda Robinson was taken suddenly ill Sunday and was rushed to the Iron County Hospital Hos-pital after her illness was diagnosed diag-nosed to be a ruptured stomach ulcer. Mrs. Erma Lamoreaux returned return-ed home late Monday of last week after spending some time in Midvale with her son Clyde and his family. She was there to help care for the new baby. A most interesting D. U. P. meeting was held Thursday afternoon af-ternoon of last week at the home of Mrs. Mary C. Williamson. The lesson was given and a history was read. Mrs. Hazel Dawn Evans entertained enter-tained the members of her club at her home Wednesday of last week. Mrs. Ronald Robinson entertained enter-tained at a party for her son Miles on Jan. 14, in honor of his birthday. A large group of children child-ren enjoyed the festive occasion. A family gathering was held at the Joe Lamoreaux home Saturday Satur-day evening in celebration of Mr. Lamoreaux's birthday. The Joe Benson family came from Beaver, the Ronald Morten-I Morten-I sens were here from Pa rowan and Duane Lamoreaux came from Cedar City. |
