Show Local Guardsmen In Running For Trip to Hawaii Two Cedar City guardsmen are in the running for a vacation trip to Hawaii as a result of a Utah National Guard enlistment contest being conducted during the month of January. The two men are lstSgt. Clyde i Nelson and MSgt. Max Bonzo. Final results will not be an-' an-' flounced until a later date. The campaign has bee launched launch-ed to fill some 730 vacancies in units throughout the state. In the Artillery Battalion In southern south-ern Utah, approximately 50 vacancies va-cancies exist, it was Indicated and In Headquarters Battery In Cedar City only four vacancies Tern a In. Some 40 guardsmen from Utah will make the trip during the latter part of March or early April in one of the Utah Air National Guard's C-7 Heavy transports during a routine training train-ing flight to the Islands. The drive Is especially aimed at young men out of high school and persons with prior military ervlce. High School seniors who Will graduate ths May or June are also eligible to fill vacancies. An additional quota of 150 for the alx month active duty training train-ing program has been obtained for high school seniors for departure de-parture In lale May or June. |
