Show WE AK AVI'S Anothher in a series of historical histori-cal reports from the pages of "Horizon's Book of Lost Worlds" was presented by Rhoda Jones last Thursday at the home of Carol Draper. The social was held for members of the We Ak Avl club who meet bi-monthly. After the Interesting narrative review concerning the ancient life and facts of "Mesopotamia," the fourteen four-teen members present joined in a discussion based on the lesson theme. EN AVANTE Marilyn Barrus reviewed "The Nation of Sheep" a book dealing with the United States Foreign relations policies and written by William J. Lederer, author- of the "Ugly Amercan." Mrs. Barrus presented her report to the 18 members of the En Avante Club who gathered on Wednesday evening eve-ning for their regular meeting. Scene for the club social was the home of acting hostess Iris Corry. Mrs. Corry welcomed a guest, Mrs. Ardeen Childs to the get together. FOREST SERVICE AUXILIARY Care of the hair and hair styling sty-ling in the latest fashions were demonstrated by lone Lambert on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the monthly meeting of the Forest Service Auxiliary. 24 members of the group were in attendance. The Auxiliary social was held at the home of Jean Christensen with Lucille Frehner serving as co-hostess for the occasion. The reporter for the ladies Forest For-est Service group indicated that a correction should be made concerning con-cerning the social news of the Auxiliary Christmas party. In addition to those mentioned as having entertained at the holiday holi-day event Dave Blackner and Allen Harter performed. Pinochle club was held Tuesday Tues-day evening at the home of Mrs. Pace Webster. Club Ladies welcomed wel-comed a new member, Mrs. Jay (Sharon) Peck to their group. Also rejoining the Tuesday night organization was Mrs. Jay (Marilyn) (Mari-lyn) Perry. The hostess Invited Ruby Webster to participate in j me card fun during the evening I social. LADIES OF ELKS "Alaska Sour Dough Special" was the unusual theme for the mmthlv nartv nlannAft and at- tended by members of the Lady Elks organization Jast vk. The Thursday night event held for it's guests unique decor creating an atmosphere in mock style of cultural attitudes from the far north. In keeping with the theme, sour dough bisquits were served along with the salad menu. me-nu. Luzon Avedisian was chairman chair-man for the party, assisted by Marion Rosenberg as officer advisor ad-visor along with committee members Pat Clark, Leone Wade, Colleen Urie, Donna Jolley, Ro-mona Ro-mona Esplin, Jerry Berry and Jean Nelson.
