Show Delta Team Holds Top Spot in Millard Division The Delta Rabbits, although idle last' week In basketball play in the Millard Division race, moved to the top of the standings stand-ings in the division r"c and tle only team without a loss. Also as the result of last Friday's Fri-day's games, the Millard Eagles dropped from the undefeated ranks, being beaten by Milford, 62 to 50 at Milford to drop into second place with two wins and one defeat. Milford and Beaver went into a tie for third and fourth places with a win and a loss for each. And Parowan dropped drop-ped to the bottom with no wins ana three straight losses, when they were defeated Friday by Beaver by a 43 Jo 36 score. And by losing to the Beaver team on the home floor it became be-came apparent that the Parowan Paro-wan team hasn't much chance to get above the bottom rung on the ladder, after losing two of its four home games. Coach Lowell Caldwell's squad played the visitors on even terms during the first quarter which ended with the Rams holding a 10 to 9 advantage. In the seconr quarter the Beaver team took over, and by reason of slightly better foul shooting during the period went ahead by a 22 to 17 score. During the first half of the game Parowan went to the foul line 11 times, and the net result of all those trips was one point. Play was even In the third period per-iod with each team geting 11 points, with Beaver holding the five point advantage, and this lead was increased by two In the final period as. the Beavers out-3Cored out-3Cored the Rams 10 points to 8. The contest was marred by numerous fouls and then lax officiating of-ficiating in the later stages with the visitors having slightly the best of It from the foul Line, getting get-ting nine out of 25 tries and Parowan Par-owan six out of 21. Another item that may be noted in the box score at the end of this story, is the fact that the three new members on the Ram squad this year, Mike Hyatt, Junior, Mack Clark and Danny Earton, sophomores, sopho-mores, outscored the four seniors 21 to 15 in the game. This week the Parowan team gets a bye while the two Millard county teams, Delta and Millard fight it out at Millard and the two Beaver County teams, Milford Mil-ford and Beaver meet at the latter lat-ter place. In these games we will stick our necks out to pick the visitin? teams. Delta over Millard and Milford over Beaver.
