Show City Council Passes Expenditure Budget At a special meeting of the Parowan City Council last Friday noon, called for the purpose of holding a final hearing on the proposed budget of expenditures for the city for the 1938 calendar year, no one appeared to offer any protests or ask for any changes in the proposed list of items contained in t he budget. After waiting until 1 p. m. during dur-ing which time some other matters mat-ters of routine business were considered, con-sidered, the budget was pass"! as drawn up during the montii' of November, and became the official of-ficial list of expendi'ures for this year. The budget calls for a total expenditure of $109,417.00 during the year, and matches the i-sti-mated revenues from the various income sources which the city has. The budget was ordered mib-lished mib-lished in this week's issue of the Parowan Times. This meeting was the final one of the year for the present city council and the next to the last one for Mayor W. Scott Mitchell and councilmen J. W. Moore and Clau le Orfon. A short meeting is to be held at noon next Monday Mon-day at which time the affairs of the city will be turned over to a new administration. At that time Howard Joseph will be sworn in as mayor and Aird G. Merkley and Morris Ras-mussen Ras-mussen will be sworn in as city, councilmen to serve for the next four years. Holdover members of the council are P Rohinson, Arn-I old Gurr and F. C. Van Buren. |
