Show Music Arts Program For January Features Pianist, Play The year 1958 will start out with a bang for the Cedar City Music Arts Association as it presents pre-sents two outstanding presenta. tions in the month of January. First concert of the 1958 series ser-ies by the music arts will be on Monday evening, Jan. 6 at 8:15 when Grant Johhannesen, celebrated cele-brated Utah pianist, will appear in a concert at the College of Southern Utah auditorium. A second treat during tin; month will be the appearance of the Utah Theatre actors in the stacjo. presentation of "Macbeth."' This number is slated for Tuesday, Tues-day, Jan. 28, 1958. Johannesen is a native of Salt Lake City where he received his early training. Only 36 years of age the young musician has made appearances with all of the major orchestras of this country and throughout Europe as well. Ho has Just returned from a brilliantly successful tour of Eu-rope Eu-rope where he appeared in England, Eng-land, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Germ-any, Denmark and Norway. Included on Monday's program will be number by Bach, Beethoven, Beetho-ven, DeBussy, Grelg and Proko-fleff. Proko-fleff. The variety of composers and periods of musical history have been a source of amazement amaze-ment to music lovers. His versa-tllity, versa-tllity, scope and variey of repertoire reper-toire has claimed for him the lauds of the music world. He has appeared here as guest soloist with the Utah Symphony Orchestra and In a previous concert sponsored by the Music Arts Association. This has been the case wherever wher-ever he has been.
