Show Kedmen Open Hoop Season Friday The Cedar City High School Redmen basketball team embarks em-barks this week on a rattier unusual un-usual schedule as the Dixie Division Di-vision of Region 10 race ets under way. On Friday evening. Jan. 3, the Redmen will entertain the Hurricane Hurri-cane Tigers in the season opener. open-er. Game time at the College i" Southern Utah fieldhouse is 8 p. m. As the schedule pans out the Redmen find themselves as the home club for the entire fi:st half of play and naturally they will be on the road for the entire en-tire second half of play. With Orderville or Valley High moving into another league over on the other side of the mountain, moun-tain, competing with Piute, Ks-calanie, Ks-calanie, Bryce Valley, Marysvaie, and Panguitch, it leaves the Dixie Dix-ie Division with five teams. They ' ricane, Kunab, and Kn'erprise. At the conclusion of the season sea-son a list of entries into iiv State Class B tournament will also be changed. In the past, three teams from Region 10. in-. eluding Millard and Dix'e di-j i visions have been entered in the I state classic with first place winners entering t ho tournament tourna-ment automatically and t he second sec-ond and third place teams in the division playing off for the third tournament berth. This year each division will be represented automa'ically by the first and second place winners win-ners at the end of league play. This gives the region a total of four places in the state tourn.v men A playoff between the winners win-ners in the two divisions will, nevcrlheless be staged, for the purpose of seeding at the Cla s B Tournamen.
