PACE Southern Baptists Will Hold Special Meetings by Harold Dillman The Baptists of Southern Utah Invite all to enter into the simultaneous sim-ultaneous movement this April 20th through May 1st. Four men from the state of Mississippi are coming to lead this area as we cooperate with the other Baptist Bap-tist churches and missions of Utah at this particular time Since It is so far for these men to come for this campaign, and so difficult for them to be away from their churches for three Sundays in a row we are beginning begin-ning our meetings on Wednesday, Wednes-day, holding services each evening even-ing for twelve nights. We Invite any and all to attend what ser vices you can. The Rev. Samuel M. Brown, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Gruce, Miss., will be the speaker at Cedar City in the First Baptist Church. Brother Brown was born and reared in Alabama, having received his A. B. degree from the Howard College, Birmingham. Birming-ham. Alabama: A. B. degree from he Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky. Brother Brown has held pastorates pas-torates in Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana, and Mississippi, having been at the present church for three years. Last year he was invited in-vited to participate in the preaching preach-ing tour of Europe and the Near East. At present he is a member Df the Mississippi State Boards of the Mississippi Baptist General Gen-eral Convention. The Rev. Curtis James, pastor of the Vardaman Baptist Church, Vardaman, Miss., will be the guest evenagelist at Nephl for these twelve days. Brother James is a graduate of the Mississippi College, and also the New Orleans Or-leans Baptist Theological Seminary. Semin-ary. The preachers, A. J. Pace Jr., and Joel Halre, will work as a team dividing their services between be-tween the Beryl Crossroads and at Mllford. Due to the extreme activity of the Community House at the Crossroads there will be only five evening meetings there; Saturday the 23rd through Wednesday Wed-nesday 27th. Services in the Community Com-munity House will begin at 8 p.m. each of these evenings. The Rev. A. J. Pace was born in LaMar County, Mississippi, in 1933. Hs was called of God to the Gospel ministry at the early age of 17. After spending two years in the U. S. Army he attended the Clark Memorial-College for two years, and then the University Univer-sity of Mississippi. His first pastorate pas-torate was the call cf th New Hope Baptist Church, Vardaman, .Miss., and at present he is pas- tor of the Pittsboro Baptist Church, Pittsboro, Miss. The Rev. Joel Haire, a native of Mississippi, was born in Layfette Springs, September 21, 1934. The young Rev. Haire received hte B. S. degree at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
