Show SUP Annual Trip Planned by Local Officers The annual trek of the Sons of Utah Pioneers, which will take place on the Labor Day week end, was planned Monday night at the monthly officers meeting of the local chapter. The trek will be called "Arches National Monument and Dead Horse Point trek", according to President Austin Aus-tin Heywood, and will be taken on Sept 3, 4 and 5, when everyone every-one will be free over the long Labor Day week end. Tentative plans are for the group making the trip to leave Cedar City by car on the morning morn-ing of Sept. 3, lunch in Escalante or on Boulder Mountain, and then go on to Capitol Reef National Na-tional Monument and to Hanks-ville Hanks-ville for the first night's stop. The second day the party will Journey to Hlte where they will cross the Colorado by ferry. From there they will go to Blanding, Montlcello and Moab. Various side trips will be taken to natural na-tural bridges and points of inter est during the day. The third day will be spent visiting Arches National Monument, Monu-ment, Dead Horse Point and return re-turn will be by way of Green River, Price and Salina. It Is planned that the group take tents, sleeping bags and grub boxes. However, each night's stop will be near or at a town where motel accommodations accommoda-tions can be had. Arrangements for accommodations must be ma8e In advance, so those who wish to stay In motels should contact members of the 'committee 'commit-tee early. It is expected that all members mem-bers of the Cedar City chapter of SUP will avail themselves of this opportunity to visit points of real Interest and inspiration. An invitation is being sent to the National Society of Sons of Utah Pioneers to Join the local group. A special invitation has also been extended to the chapters in Parowan and St. George to Join the trek. Trek committee for the Cedar City chapter includes Wilson N.
