Show College Orchestra 'Plans Spring I f In WWUWVtliWl MVtM.Z ' It's Spring concert time for the College of Southern Utah-Community Orchestra Saturday, April 16 at 8 p. m. in the CSU auditorium. auditor-ium. The 51-piece orchestra will appear under the baton of Professor Pro-fessor Roy L. Halversen, chairman chair-man of the CSU Music Dept. Major works of the evening, according to Prof. Halversen, will bs Schubert's "Unfinished" Sym-phny, Sym-phny, Overture to Oberon by Von Weber and the Prelude to the Third Act of Lohengrin by Richard Rich-ard Wagner. Professor Halversen has made (some special arrangements for strings of four popular orchestral numbers. These are Tschaikow-sky's Tschaikow-sky's "Andante Cantabile", De-bussey's De-bussey's "Clair de Lune", Bach's "Loure" and Grelg's beautiful "Sol Vejg's Song." Concert Master for the CSU-Community CSU-Community Orchestra ,1s Dale Parry. Mr. Parry has played violin vio-lin for a number of years, according accord-ing to Prof Halversen. The last four years .at Menlo Park High Schol and Pomona College Jn California. The concert, master is a pre-medical student at College of Southern Utah. |
