Show Mr. "and Mrs." J. L Dalton received re-ceived disconcerting news of their daughter, Ruth Ealton, last week. A telegram from the Ad-Jutant Ad-Jutant General in Washington, D. C, informed them that Capt Dalton was seriously ill of pneumonia pneu-monia in Paris, France, and was not responding satisfactorily to treatment Miss Dalton is an Army nurse and has served almost al-most long enough to be eligible for retirement Mr. and Mrs. John C Barton j were in Parowan on Saturday to attend the wedding of their' granddaughter, Miss Madalyn Leigh and Mack Low of Beaver. I They a'ao attended the reception which followed. Also present at! the reception were Mrs. Scott i Barton and her children, Mrs. Delia Partner, Mr. and Mrs. J. Leonard Topham, Patsy Topham and Mildred Hunt Mr. and Mrs. LeGrand Leigh of Ogden were week end visitors here with the Blaine Jones family. fam-ily. They came from Ogden for the wedding of Legrande's sister Madalyn. Announcement has been made that Paragonah Ward conference will be held on Sunday, April 17. tfuevne Ttohh. arm of Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Robb, who now lives in Salt Lake City, left here on Friday for the first stage of his Journey to Fort Ord, Calif, for military training. Mr. Robb has made his home here with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Fobb for the past several, years and has been attending school at College of Southern! Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Victor R. Robin-' son and their family of Price were week end visitors in Paragonah Para-gonah where they visited with their many relatives. Principal Max Dalley of the Parowan High- School was a visiting vis-iting speaker at Sunday's Sacrament Sac-rament meeting. He and Eugene Boardman each gave interesting accounts of the recent trip of the National Guard to Puerto Rico. Elwln Talbot and his two eldest eld-est children of Salt Lake City were here for the week end. They visited with the Renford Talbot family. Mrs. Hannah Robinson returned home with them after a week in the capital city. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Robinson and their two children of Salt Lake City were week end visitors here where they spent the time with the Earl Thornton and the Chester ' Robinson families. Mrs. Irene Robinson returned to the city with them Monday to keep an appointment with her doctor there. Mrs. Delia Partner moved home from Enterprise early last week after spending the major part of the last several months there. Terry Lund of Salt Lake City was in town on business last week. Lewis Prothero had the misfortune mis-fortune to get hurt on Tuesday I of last week while working on the new elementary school building build-ing In Parowan. He was helping a move a slab of concrete which fell on him, breaking his ankle Mrs. Idella Robinson has been busy for the past week or so counting the residents of our town. Mrs. Robinson Is the census cen-sus taker for this vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Mario, i'.ngle-stead i'.ngle-stead traveled to Pant t. itch on Sunday to attend the 80fh birthday birth-day celebration of John S. Crosby who is a relative. They report a very pleasant trip as there were a number of family members together for the occasion. Mrs. Iras Jones and son accompanied jthem to Pangultch to spend the I days with Mrs. Eva Bell, Mrs. i Jones' mother. Mrs. Clara Robb enjoyed hav- ing members of her family from Cedar City with her for a Sun- day visit Included In the group were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Robb, I Jesse Robb and a son and daughter. daugh-ter. Mrs. Lowell Robb and son Ray both visited here the prev-j lous week. I Mrs. Eda Thornton was taken! to the Iron County Hospital early last week when she became ser-loi'.sly ser-loi'.sly ill. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Robinson entertained at a fam'lv rr on Sunday In honor of the birthday birth-day of their son Chester. ThHr entire family was together for the occasion. The Dale Robinsons were here from Salt Lake City, the Ralph Edwards famllv came from Cedar City and the Ronald Rbnnson wero here from Parowan. Paro-wan. A special treat was in store ftr the Paragonah MIA people on Tuesday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Silas Topham of Parowan were present o show the colored pictures taken on their recent trip to Mexico and Central America. Amer-ica. They had many interesting things to report The majority of the MIA stake leaders were in Paragonah for the meetings. Mr. and Mrs. J"e Lamoreaux received word from their son Robin Ro-bin in Germany last week. He has been stationed in Turkey for the past few months but went to Frankfurt on Mar. 27 to help with some repair work on an airplane. Edwin Williamson continues to improve at the Iron County Hospital Hos-pital after suffering strokes that Impaired his vision and left other oth-er disabling conditions. Hugh Robinson and his fam ily of Cedar City visited here on Sunday with the Calvin Robinson Rob-inson family. Hugh was enroute' to Salt Lake City for some spec-jlal spec-jlal Fair Deal Motor schooling. Sunday visitors at the Wilson Lund home were Mr. and Mrs. James Maxwell of Glendale and Mr. and Mrs. James Rae of Salt, Lake City. One day last week! 'Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Maxwell stopped here for a visit withj the Lunds and Mrs. Maxwell. They were moving back to Cedar City after living in Salt Lake City for a time. ! Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Limb and family of Beaver ipent Friday afternoon here visiting with the James H. Andersons. I Jim Low of Beaver visited with the Andersons on Saturday. A few Paragonah people attended at-tended the Scout court of honor In Parowan on Sunday evening. I Awards were received by Myron Abott and Dick McBrlde, leaders lead-ers and by Lamarr Anderson. DUP meeting will be held on Thursday of next week at the I home of Mrs. Lula Bastian.
