Show PARAGONAH NEWS NOTES By Rilma Lamoreaux Mr. and Mrs. Glen Williamson and family of Las Vegas visited here last week end. They arrived arriv-ed on Saturday to meet their daughter Jeanette who Is a student stu-dent at B Y U and was on her way home for the holidays. When the family left for Las Vegas on Sunday they were accompanied by Glenn's father, Edwin Williamson, Wil-liamson, who will spend the winter win-ter months In the warmer Nevada Neva-da climate. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Robb drove to Payson on Sunday to get Clark's sister, Mrs. Geneva Jones, and bring her to Iron County for the Christmas holiday. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Fay Rohb of Cedar City. Mrs Jones is visiting In Paragonah for a few days before going on to Cedar City for Christmas with the Keith Bess family. Mrs. Rayma Clark was here from Cedar City to spend the week end with her folks, the Earl Thornton family, and to assist in caring for her ailing grandmother, grandmoth-er, Mrs. Mary Prothero. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Adams and small son Gary of Anaheim, Cal. arrived here on Friday to spend the holidays with relatives. They will divide their time between the Ray Adams home in Paro-, wan and Ida's people, the Ren-' ford Talbot family in Paragonah. Mrs. Emma Edwards and daughter Gladys, enjoyed a pre-Christmas pre-Christmas visit from Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hemstreet of Salt Lake City, last week. The Hemstreets were here from Tuesday to Sunday Sun-day before going on to Los Angeles An-geles to spend Christmas with their son Bill. Clarence Lamoreaux of Henderson, Hender-son, Nev. spent Saturday and Sunday visiting relatives here. He was on his way home after traveling to Salt Lake City to attend at-tend the funeral for his sister Mrs. Harriet South"'"-:. Mrs. Nettie Baldwin of Cedar oiy ac companied him on the trip to the city. Mr. and Mrs. Marlon Engle-stead Engle-stead of St. George arrived in town on Monday to enjoy Christmas Christ-mas with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones. I Mr. and Mrs. Archie Lamoreaux Lamor-eaux of St. George were in town on Wednesday of last week vls-j lting relatives and friends. They were enroute to Salt Lake Cltyi to see Mr. Lamoreaux's sister, who was critically ill. ! William Hurst of Panguitch was in town one day last week visitinar with his friends, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Robinson. I George D. Grlmshaw of the Parowan Stake Presidency was In1 Paragonah to attend all church meetings on Sunday. Visiting high councilmen, who were the speakers at Sacrament meeting.' were A. Hills Orton and Arnold Gurr of Parowan. A most Interesting DUP meeting meet-ing was held on Thursday of last week nt the home of Mrs. Idella Robinson. The life history of Wm. II. Dame was read and the lesson was erlven. Games and refreshments followed with prizes given to the winners and to the ones who had lucky number corsages. cor-sages. Mrs. Gwen Jones entertained her Sunday School class at a Christmas party at her home on Wednesday. The youngsters had a very fine time. Mrs. Shirley Lister entertained the members of her sewing club on Wednesday of last week. Ouiltin? was in order for the evening and tasty refreshments were served by the hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Guymon ar rived In town last week end for a visit with Leon's ailing grandfather, grand-father, John B. Topham. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Robinson were In Cedar City on Sunday to see their son Hugh who was hos vitalized Saturday evening with ruptured stomach ulcers. Hugh I was in a serious condition and j had been given blood transfusions transfu-sions and intravenous feedings. ' Miss Ivy Robinson was home from Cedar City to spend the week end with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Robinson. Clyde Lamoreaux arrived home from Provo Friday night to spend the holidays with his folks, the Errol Lamoreaux family. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth G. Topham was the scene of a lovely Christmas party on Saturday evening. The ladies meet twice each month for a sewing club but on this occasion occa-sion the husbands were Invited Invit-ed for a party. Games and refreshments re-freshments were in order. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. Victor Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Doug-las Davenport. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Lamoreaux, Mr. and Mrs. Errol Lamoreaux, and Mr. and Mrs. Kay Lamoreaux. The Herbert Topham home has been purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Bert Robb and they have been moving there the past week end. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Bentley have been living there and the couple changed homes In a two-way two-way move. |
