Show NEWS BRIEFS By Gladys Holland Mr. and Mrs. Chester White-law White-law and Mr. and Mrs. Smith Jones of Enterprise, went to Eagle Ea-gle Valley, Nev. Sunday to conduct con-duct Sunday School. Mr. and Mrs. Jones are the new missionaries mission-aries for the Uvada Stake. After Af-ter the services the Whitelaws were entertained by Maggie Warner. The Jones enjoyed a lovely dinner with Lydia Hollin-ger. Hollin-ger. The Whitelaws report lots of snow over there. Mr. and Mrs. William Hunt had a very painful accident over the week end. She stepped on a needie. She is still under the doctor's care and is unable to walk on her foot. Kenneth Hunt of Enterprise is home after having undergone surgery. Glad to hear you're up and about, Kenneth. Carl E. Holland, F-3 was a week end visitor with his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Holland. He also visited friends at Enterprise En-terprise and St. George. Carl returned re-turned to his ship Monday. He is statio..?d on the USS Gregory at San Diego. Mrs. Wilson Scott and Mrs. Larry Robinson took Carl to St George Monday. Young Ronald Gardner surprised sur-prised his mother, Mrs. Ed Gardner, Gard-ner, by Inviting a number of his classmates to a party to celebrate cele-brate his seventh birthday. The following guests were there: Joe. lyn Holt, Marietta Hunt, Ma-lene Ma-lene Jolley, Craig Laub, Johnny Butler, ynt Holt, and Terrlll Hunt. They all had a grand time playing games. Refreshments Refresh-ments of punch and cake were served. Your reporter was also a guest. Ferg Wallace of St. George was in the valley Wednesday visiting visit-ing friends. Mrs. John Ardelyan and small daughter Kathy are visiting Mrs. Ardelyan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. i Ray Hunt R. G. Knoblauch of Rupert, Idaho was in the valley all week. Mr.Knoblauth Is field representative represen-tative for the Lockwood Equipment Equip-ment Company of Gerring, Neb. He has been calling on the pota. to growers. His firm handles the automatic potato cutting, washing wash-ing and sorting equipment Sheldon Clove of Enterprise, a student of education at CSU, will spend the next three weeks as a' practice teacher at the Escalante Valley School teaching in Mr. Jolley's and Mr. Applegate's classes. I George Jolley, the fifth and sixth grade teacher, has been home the past several days with a severe sore throat. Don Applegate, principal of the Escalante Valley School returned re-turned Monday from Los Angeles where he attended the Elementary Elemen-tary Principals' c?r.v?n"on. Mrs. Alice Bartor., the county nurse, was in t'.ie valley Friday Fri-day visiting the school and other oth-er families in the valley. Most of the children are back after having had an epidemic of chicken chic-ken pox. Melissa Whltelaw has been out this week. Tony and Louis Alberto have returned home, after spending last week In San Fernanda, Cl. It was both a pleasure and business bus-iness trip, taking them as far as Yosemite. Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Neal Bracken that their son, Alma, who is serving in the Navy now stationed at New York Harbor, has been transferred from the USS Bryce Caj.yon to the USS Grand Canyon. Mrs. Jack Crum arrived home after about six weeks In Town- send, Mont., where she was taken tak-en ill while visiting- relatives.
