Show Uintah High, Redmen Take Top Honors At B Wrestling Meet Uintah High School of Vernal and the Cedar City Redmen finished fin-ished first and second respectively respective-ly in the State Class B wrestling wrest-ling title chase at Pleasant Grove Saturday to duplicate the 1958 first and second place standings. Redmen on the strength of two first places, a second, three thirds and a fourth, totaled 60 points to fall behind Uintah who I won the team championship with a total score of GG. In Third place was Millard with 56 points. Two other Region Ten squads finished in the top ten with Delta in fifth place and Dixie in eighth. Two first place winners for Coach Hal Norton's Redmen were Garth Bryant in the 106 pound class and Jay Smith In the 115 lbs. division. ; I Second places were garnered by George Manning in the 133 pound division and third places were won by Lyrn Mosdell, 136; Ron Prince, 1Y8 and Dale Eider in tl. unlimited class. The fourth place was picked up by Nell Gentry in the 143 pound class. Seven of the nine-man squad for the Redmen placed in thm state event. Uintah rounded out Its scorinsj with points in a number of divisions di-visions on the strength of a 12-man 12-man team one man in every , weight division. Moab and Monticello, heretofore hereto-fore practically unheard of is. the wrestling ranks of the state, came through with strong teams to break up the domination of the sport by Region Ten school. Cedar City, Millard and Deltas who each placed high this year, lost some ground to these schools for this reason. |
