Show PARAGON AH NEWS NOTES i By Hilma Lamoreaux I The annual reunion of the John Rowlandson Robinson family fam-ily organization will be held In the Paragonah Ward chapel on Saturday, March 7. The daa vents will commence with a trtuliiess meeting at 11 o'clock. From 12 noon to 1:30 dinner will be aerved. This will be followed fcy an afternoon program and visiting. John Rowlandson Robinson was one or the original pioneers to Paragonah and hundreds of his . posterity live in the sur-minding sur-minding area. All are invited to attend Saturday's reunion. The Relief Society presented a Sunday evening program in the Ward chapel on Mar. 1 under the direction of the local Relief Society So-ciety presidency. Talks, scriptural scriptur-al readings and special musical numbers were given by the Sing-tag Sing-tag Mothers of the ward. Mrs. Charles F. Bentley of the Stake Board was in attendance at the meeting. She was accompanied accom-panied from Parowan by Mr. Bentley. The local Elders Quorum members mem-bers and their wives enjoyed a octal on Saturday evening In! the school auditorium as a climax cli-max to a day of rabbit hunting for the men. Lester Williamson was master of ceremonies for a short program, Burgess Robinson showed some of his colored films and a chill supper was served. Joe Topham of Rio Blanco, Colo., arrived In town on Wed-nes Wed-nes day of last week for a few days visit with his sisters and brothers, Mrs. Lula Bastlan, Mrs. Sarah Stones, Ellis and H. B. Robinson. He was accompanied by a friend, Mrs. Kinny of Silt, Colo., and the two had tourned parts of Arizona prior to coming here. They were returning home by way of Salt Lake City and when they left to make to trip to Salt Lake they were accompanied accom-panied by Ellis Robinson who was going for a check up with his physician. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Robinson returned home Sunday after more than a week's absence. They traveled to the Los Angeles Angel-es area in an attempt to get help for Irene's serious kidney ailment. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs George Kurtz, at their home in Torrence, Calif., and Mrs. Robinson spent several days ,ln an Englewood hospital. Miss Helen Stones left for Los Angeles, Calif, on Friday to at-1 tend meetings for school principals. princi-pals. The convention was to last until Wednesday. During this time Idella Robinson is replacing Miss Stones in the school room. Mrs. Iras Jones traveled to Pangultch on Wednesday to vis-I vis-I it with her mother, Mrs. Eva Bell, who was observing her birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Robb are proud grandparents again since the arrival of a baby boy born on Thursday of last week to Kelly and Cleone Dalton of Cedar City. The baby arrived at the Iron County Hospital and Is the first son for the young couple. Their two little girls are in Paragonah with their Robb grandparents, while their mother is in the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Renford Talbot receive the news of the arrival of a new grandson last week. An 8-pound 8-pound boy was born on Feb. 23 to Steve and Ida T. Adams at Anaheim, CaU. Mrs. Talbot left early Tuesday to go to California in order to help out a bit and to get acquainted with the new baby. She expected to be away about ten days. Mr. and Mrs. John C. Barton were pleased to have their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Dortha Barton, and her three young sons of Orderville, with them for a week end visit. The visitors had been to St. George, Enterprise and Newcastle to visit with family fam-ily members before coming to Paragonah on Saturday. They returned to their home late Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Robinson and family were over from Cedar City on Sunday, visiting with the Calvin Robinson family. Bishop Victor R. Robinson departed de-parted for Ogden early Sunday to attend another week of convention con-vention meetings for Forest Service Ser-vice workers. Mrs. Rowena Stones is home again after a week In the Iron County Hospital where she submitted sub-mitted to a serious operation which was performed on Tuesday Tues-day of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Don Barton spent Sunday in Pangultch visiting with Edith's mother, Mrs John C. Miller. Mr. and Mrs. II. Revere Robinson Robin-son had their entire family together to-gether on Sunday in honor of the birthday of Re ve re's father, II. B. Robinson, which came earlier In the week. The Clair Robinsons came from Parowan, the Dee Whites from Summit, the Cluff Jolleys, the Gordon Manzlones and members of the Leigh Wade family came from Cedar City. Clyde Lamoreaux was home again from Provo for the week end. Mrs. Irene Robinson has received re-ceived word that her father, Arch Lamoreaux, is in rather poor condition con-dition after undergoing an operation opera-tion at the Holy Cross Hospital last week. Mr. Lamoreaux went into shock following surgery and is not doing as well as expected. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Board-man Board-man were pleased to have members mem-bers of Leah Jean's family with them for a week end visit. The parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Rob-lnson, Rob-lnson, and a sister, Mrs. Luella Hawkins, and her young daughter, daugh-ter, were all hem from Kanarra-vllle. Kanarra-vllle. Mrs. Mary Abbott and her new baby daughter are home from the hospital. The Ward Junior M-Men lost in a play-off game with the Parowan Par-owan Second Ward team on Monday Mon-day night. The two teams had been tied for first place In the Parowan Stake basketball league. The Second Ward defeated the last year's stake winners and will represent this area In the Region Two tournament at St George, this week. The boys have made a fine showing this year, however, and Coach Ralph Edwards can well be proud of his players. Members of the team were Keber Lund, Kenneth Topham, Duane Lam- oreaux, Neil Talbot, Eugene Boardman, Mike Williamson, J. B. Jones, Vergene Jones, Charles Boardman, Joe Topham and La-marr La-marr Anderson. |
