Show Nineteen Fallout Shelters Stocked in Area For 13,600 People, Management Schools Start Stocking of 19 separate fallout . shelters in Iron County capable of handling 13,540 persons was completed this week, according to Hal Christensen. Iron County Civil Defense chairman. Supplies were distributed to the Tucker Coal Mine and to the Valley View Medical Center early this week. The supplies, more than ample to handle the residents of the county, take into consideration the role of the Civil Defense in the area handling the influx of people from the heavily populated popu-lated southern California area the chairman stated. At the present time the properly proper-ly marked, approved and stocked fallout shelters are listed as follows: fol-lows: Leigh Furniture, 191; Fish and Game building, 75; Webster Coal Mines mine 1, 2000; mine 2, 2000; mine 3, 2000; Cedar High School 231; Junior High School, 202; Valley View Medical Center, 2820; Coal Creek mine, 2000; First Security Bank, 70; Post Of'ict. 70; Alfred Pedersen potato pit at Beryl 371; Tucker Coal mine, 1255; CSU Student Center, 375; CSU auditorium stage area, 50 and the Girl's dormitory at CSU, 50 persons. In order to further augment ; the program, a fallout shelter management school was begun 1 Wednesday at College of South- ern Utah and will run through Friday. Wednesday and Thurs-i Thurs-i day the course will run from 7 to 10 p. m. and Friday night members of the school will enter a shelter at 8 p. m. and remain until 10 a. m. Saturday morning. Supervisors for the course are being provided through the Utah State University Extension Service Ser-vice and will include Wallace Sjoblom, Foyer Olsen and Raymond Ray-mond Mlllner. Personnel attending the course represent many of the businesses and areas where fallout shelters have been designated. At the completion of the course the county program will be ready for operation.
