Show j Cedar City Social Swing Mrs. Janet Whitehead and children chil-dren traveled to Richfield where they were guests of Mrs. Whitehead's White-head's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Josh Ogden. Bridge club members met Thu-sday nifcht at the home of La Rue Morris where they participated parti-cipated in their bi-monthly card session. First and second high score winners were Susan Proctor Proc-tor and Evelyn Jones. Company of Mr. and Mrs. Wes Higbee have been Mr. Higbee's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Higbee and family fami-ly of Salt Lake City. The two families traveled to Page, Ariz., for a brief side trip. The entire family of Mr. and Mrs. Rudgar Beatty spent the past week end in Cedar City together. to-gether. Here from Salt Lake City were Mr. and Mrs. LaMond Beatty Beat-ty and family along with Miss Dianrie Beatty. Arriving from Nevada Ne-vada were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beatty and family and here from Pa rowan were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Don-ald Lowder and family. Joining the clan from Cedar City were Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Alger. Thursday through Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Rex Harris and son Paul enjoyed vacationing in California Ca-lifornia with Darlene Harris, who resides in ElMonte. Outings at the beach, site-seeing and golfing golf-ing were all on the vacation itinerary for the Harris family. After vacationing in Salt Lake City and Oregon, Miss Claudia Jacobson and Miss Phyllis Chat-terley Chat-terley of ElMonte, Calif., were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton L. Chatterley. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Miles of Cedar City have had Easter visitors vi-sitors lr im Mesa, Ariz. Their guests were Mrs. Miles' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Pace and their family, Daniel, Kathryn, Melody and Ray. Mrs. Hal Norton was hostess to last week's Thursday night pinochle pino-chle club. Recipients of high score gifts were Mrs. Richard Winterrose and Mrs. LaMar Graff. Mrs. Graff also awarded the hostess gift to Mrs. Norton. Spending the week end in Huntington, Hun-tington, Utah, and surrounding areas in Emery County were Mr. and Mrs. Kugene Palmer and family. They were guests of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Snow. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Parker Par-ker Ward was the scene for a family dinner party held Saturday, Satur-day, April 17th. The party, hosted host-ed by Mrs. Newell Wasden, was given in honor of five family members who have celebrated their birthdays this month. Honored Hon-ored guests were Newell Wasden, Parowan; Dale Halterman, Cedar Cit; Sarah Coleman, Salt Lake City and Carey and Clyde Shurt-Uff Shurt-Uff of Santa Barbara, Calif. Guests attending from out of town In addition to those honored hon-ored and their families, were Mr. and Mrs. Ward Halterman, Las Vegas; Mr. and Mrs. Alma I Holt, St. George, Mary Ward and Barbara Starr of Salt Lake City, (and Mr. Joseph E. Ward of paro- . wan. Mr. and Mrs. George Haslam visited in Murray over the week end with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Wood. A week ago Mr. and Mrs. Tom Leavitt were visiting in Nevada las guests of friends in Boulder City. While there the Leavitts were entertained at a special party attended by many tormer acquaintances in Boulder City. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Wells and daughter of Garden Grove, Calif., stopped here to visit with the Jack Pace family and other relatives. The Wells family were here both to and from a trip to Provo where they visited with Mrs. Wells' father, LeGrande Pace. Mrs. J. N. Webster and family of Las Vegas made brief stops in Cedar City to visit before going to Salt Lake City and returning to Nevada. The Websters were guests of former local residents, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Dorlety of Salt Lake City. Visiting with the Leland De-Mille De-Mille and Pauline Hunter families famil-ies this past week were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hunter and children of Orem, Utah. Family members honored Mrs. Henry Smith Saturday night at a surprise birthday party. Joining Join-ing in the celebration were Kent, Dee and Bob Smith and families along with Mr. and Mrs. Darwin M;lson. Refreshments were served serv-ed and birthday gifts in order. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Gardner, sons Mike and Richard, and daughter Angle were all guests of Mr. Gardner's sister, Dorothy Gardner in Salt Lake City over Easter week end. Miss Carol Lee and Sherri Gardner spent their holiday in Tooele, Utah, with the Ray Christiansen family. Spring vacation was enjoyed by Mrs. David Brown and family who traveled by train to Clair-mont, Clair-mont, Calif., where they were guests of Dr. John Brown. The Cedar City family left here Wednesday Wed-nesday and returned home Sunday. |
