Show Famous Musical Named for U Summer Festival I i 'J I': 'A v.; Kyle MacDonnell "South Pacific," the rollicking musical .hit that captivated Broadway audiences for three years, will be presented July 4-7 In the University of Utah stadium bowl, the gay musical will be part of the school's annual summer sum-mer session. Starring In the Mary Martin role of the Rogers and Hammer-stein Hammer-stein success will be vivacious Kyle MacDonnell. Miss MacDonnell MacDon-nell was personally chosen for the role of Ensign Nellie For-bush For-bush after Maurice Abravanel, musical director of the Utah production, pro-duction, had seen her perform the role at New Jersey's famous fam-ous Paper Mill Playhouse. Miss MacDonnell, a former Co-nover Co-nover model and television star, recently won acclaim In various parts of the country for her work as Lorelei Lee In "Gentlemen Prefer Pre-fer Blondes," Kate in "Kiss Me Kate" and Venus In "One Touch of Venus.". Co-starring In "South Pacific" will be handsome Swedish star Richard Collett. The leading operetta op-eretta star In Sweden, Collett was brought to New York for the revival re-vival of "South Pacific." He'll por- tray Emlle, de Becque, a role he has already sung more than 500 times. Second production of the Summer Sum-mer Festival will be the opera, "La BoheW." It will be performed perform-ed July 13 - 16. Starring will be Italian-American Josephine As-aro As-aro as Mlml, and three-time Summer Sum-mer Festival star John Druary as Rodolfo.
