Show Royalty Picked j For Annual j Miniature Parade Royalty for the annual Miniature Minia-ture Parade sponsored each year by the Lady Lions of Cedar City for festivities on Independence Day, July 4, was chosen at a contest held at the Second Ward Chapel last Friday evening. Chosen to reign over the event and ride the leading float entitled entitl-ed "Sitting on Top of the World," was four year old Danny Charles Yergensen as King and petite Kristine Cowan, as Queen. The King Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Yergensen and the Queen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Cowan. Attendants Attend-ants to the King and Queen will be Jill Leonard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Leonard and Donald Don-ald Blaine Betenson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Betenson. This year the parade has been divided Into three divisions for Judging, according to Mr. and Mrs. Ross Glass, parade chairmen. chair-men. Prizes will be awarded In all divisions with a grand prize for the most outstanding miniature minia-ture float of the entire parade. One division will be Judged on the parade theme, "Your Favorite Favor-ite Song." The other two divisions divis-ions will be "Nursery Rhymes" . and "Patriotic." A fourth division for decorated bicycles and tricycles tricy-cles will be Judged as well. The annual parade which has been growing each year, will be held In the forenoon and Judging will take place on the Cedar City park immediately following and prizes will be awarded at that time, Mr. and Mrs. Glass stated. This year the committee In charge has announced that no horses will be allowed to enter the parade. Reason for the move, they state, is to eliminate a hazard haz-ard with so many smaller children child-ren participating. |
