Fuller Excavating Company of Salt Lake City suo-mitted suo-mitted the low bid for grading, digging the trench, welding and laying the pipe, and covering same for the new hydro electric plant being constructed by Paro-wan Paro-wan city at the mouth of Paro-gonah Paro-gonah canyon. The bids were opened at a recent meeting of the city council, the contract was awarded and the winning contractor con-tractor now has men and equipment equip-ment on the job. The Fuller Excavating Company Com-pany bid was for $39,490, about $3,000 lower than the next lowest low-est bid and $24,000 below the highest of the four bids received. H. J. Delaney Construction Co. of Cedar City was next lowest with a bid of $42,050. Other bidders bid-ders were the Ross Construction Co., address not given, $56,940, and Jos. M. Smith and J. V. Adams, Cedar City, $63,350. The contract calls for doing some right of way leveling, digging dig-ging the trench for the pipe, welding and laying the pipe in the trench, and covering it over again. The city has cleared most of the right of. way and most of the pipe is already strewn along the right of way, ready for welding. weld-ing. We understand that one or two culverts will have to be installed in-stalled where the new pipe line crosses washes, but Parowan city is to do this part of the work. The Fuller company now has a large cat, and a trench digger on the job and has started the work we understand. |
