Show Governor Assures School Problem Presentation The Cedar City Coordinating Council committee appointed to confer with Governor J. Bracken Lee regarding their wishes in connection with the special session ses-sion of the legislature was given assurance by the governor this I week, "that all matters of importance im-portance that concern the schools" will come before the special session. Following a meeting called by the Coordinating Council and the Parent -Teachers Association at which school problems were discussed, dis-cussed, the specially appointed committee notified the governor, that "it was the desire of the Coordinating Council that the problems of school finance, taxes and teachers' retirement receive immediate consideration at the opening of the session that the Legislators might have ample time for complete study of these pressing issues." The governor's reply was as follows: "You may rest assured that all matters of importance that con-! corn the schools will be presented present-ed to the legislature at the appropriate ap-propriate times. The fact that .otiie matters ware not listed on the initial proclamation in no way should be construed to mean that they will not be presented later." The governor's reply was addressed ad-dressed to Dr. Reed VV. Farnv worth, chairman of the committee named to confer with the state executive on the matter. |
