Show Bradshaw Wins Quilt Given by Escalante Valley Club Stanley Bradshaw of Cedar City was the recipient yesterday of a quilt given him by the Escalante Es-calante Valley Women's Club as the winner of the quilt that has been on display for the past month. Mr. Bradshaw's name was drawn as the lucky winner of the quilt at a dance held last Sjlurday night at Modena. At the dance that featured the music mu-sic of the Glen Ray orchestra, a large crowd assembled under the sponsorship of the women's organization. or-ganization. Mrs. Doris Pederson, president of the Women's club and Otto Fife of the Escalante Valley were on hand to conduct the drawing. The quilt which has been on display since the Escalante tour in September is a beautiful thing done in alternate white and red blocks with the state bird and flowers embroidered on the white squares in brilliant, true-to-life colors. Each of the ladies of the organization completed com-pleted a square and the squares weie in turn quilted together at a meeting of the group. Chairman of the quilt committee commit-tee was Mrs. Jenor Whitelaw and through tfie efforts of her and her committee the two-month two-month long project was climaxed climax-ed at the dance last Saturday. |
