I Home Building Project I Gets Under Way Arrangements have been completed com-pleted for financing of a home building project in Cedar City tliat should prove a boon to young people striving to obtain homes. The need for many mod-j mod-j eiately priced homes has been apparent for some time, but with financing unavailable or at least difficult to obtain, the demand has not been met. Now financing is available and construction of the first of a series ser-ies of homes in the Cedar Crest subdivision south of the city has been started. If the program Is accepted by prospective home owners, which seems to bo a foregone conclusion, from 25 to 10 homes may be built. John Rowberry, Frank Jackson and Oliver LeFevre have completed com-pleted arrangements for the construction con-struction of the first home, 'and for financing of a large number ot additional structures as prospective pro-spective home owners contract for them. The program will be undertaken under a F1IA financing financ-ing plan with a very moderate down payment required. The homes are to be of moderate moder-ate construction in a price range ot approximately $11,000. However, How-ever, the plans call for three bedroom homes, with another room so arranged that it may be used as an extension of the living liv-ing room or a fourth bedroom. The plan provides for a large living liv-ing room, dining room, bath and kitchen large enough for utility service. There will be no basement. base-ment. The units will be heated by oil furnaces installed under the floors. The Cedar Crest subdivision is located in the vicinity of the Cedar Ce-dar Crest Lodge, east of Main Street at the southern end of the city. |
