Show 53 Homes Valued fit $546,684 Built During 1951 Fifty-three new dwelling units valued at $456,684 were built in Cedar City in 1951, according to a report released this week by Warren M. Cox, city building in-pector. in-pector. The number shows a drop of 28 from the 1950 figure of 81. Total valuation of all construction construc-tion in Cedar City for the year, including dwellings, commercial buildings, alterations and repairs, re-pairs, was $632,750, compared to the 1950 total $958,676, the report showed. The drop in both the number of homes built and the value of all buildings completed was due primarily to federal credit restrictions, restrictions on building materials and the difficulty dif-ficulty met by veterans in obtaining ob-taining GI loans, although completion com-pletion of the new west-side housing project this year without any additional projects being undertaken un-dertaken undoubtedly is a factor, fac-tor, Mr. Cox said in an interview. Permits for electrical wiring numbered 85 in the first half of the year and 85 in the second.
