Show Navy Offers New Reserve Component Program The Navy has announced a special program which will now permit men and women between the ages of 26 and 44 to enlist in the Naval Reserve in ratings compatible with their civilian skills. Many of these ratings are in the advanced pay grades, depending de-pending on the skill and experience exper-ience of the applicant. Since over 80 skills can be utilized by the Naval Reserve in this program a great cross-section of the trades of many men and women from this area can be used. Civilian with no prior military mili-tary experience, as well as veterans, vet-erans, may apply. Some of the advantages offered are: Weekly training drills at a Naval Reserve Training center with expert instructors and the finest equipment and with a full day's pay based on your navy rating; an annual 14-day period of training duty aboard navy ships, at Naval Air Stations, Sta-tions, or at other navy facilities, with full pay and allowances. These ship-board periods aften take the Naval Reservist to Hawaii, Ha-waii, and Mexico as well as to U. S. Coastal ports; an opportunity opportu-nity to build up credit points toward retirement in the Naval Reserve. Men and woman who meet the age qualifications, and are in good health are invited to inquire at the local Navy recruiting re-cruiting station or Naval Reserve unit. |
