Show Iron County Assessed Valuation Makes Sharp Increase Assessed valuation in Iron County has reached nearly forty million dollars, according to assessment as-sessment figures released this week by Hillman Dalley, Iron County assessor. The 1953 assessed valuation is $39,619,737, an increase of $8,-703,594 $8,-703,594 over that of 1952, the increase in-crease coming primarily from the assessment of public utilities. Of the 1953 assessment $31,-390,306 $31,-390,306 is for public utilities within the county, but primarily outside of cities and towns. The breakdown of assessment figures reveal that $30,559,500 is for utilities outside of the cities and towns with the iron mines providing pro-viding most of the Increase over last year. Public utility assessments assess-ments in the towns are $779,275 in Cedar City, $3,802 in Kanarra-ville, Kanarra-ville, $2,437 in Paragonah and $25,352 in Parowan. The total as-sesment as-sesment of other types of property proper-ty is $8,229,371, and of this amount $3,950,272 is on property in Cedar City, $585,695 in Parowan, Paro-wan, $70,859 in Kanarraville, and $109,603 in Paragonah. The assessed valuation of public pub-lic utilities in 1952 was $22,463,-317, $22,463,-317, as compared to the $31,390,-366 $31,390,-366 this year. |
