Ray Lyman informs us that because of the scarcity of equipment and because the state road commission crews are so busy with other work, Paro-wan Paro-wan city's street oiling program will more than likely hold over for another year. Money from the city's allotment allot-ment of class B and C funds by the state have been saved for a number of years to be used on an oiling project. It may be possible pos-sible that with state cooperation coopera-tion the street from Main street west to the First-Second ward chapel and the one from the county courthouse west past the public school buildings will be done this summer, but it is unlikely. un-likely. Mayor Lyman also states that a project to widen Parowan's Main street is also contemplated for next year. This will be done in the same way Cedar City and Beaver are doing this summer, by moving the curb and gutter back toward the sidewalks several feet. This will be done with the property owners along the two blocks in the business district standing the expense with the fate nrobabiv to pave the street its full width when the c'tv's part of the work is completed. |
