Show Parties, Dances Highlight Holiday Week A gala week of holiday acti-vlties acti-vlties was opened Monday night with the annual holiday party of the Cedar City Rotary club, held, at the Escalante hotel ballroom, ball-room, and as usual the event was one of the highlights of the holiday social season. Tuesday night the We-Ak-Avi and HH ladies' clubs Joined In the annual party of the two organizations, or-ganizations, featuring a dancing party at the L D S Institute. Wednesday night the big event was the annual Iron County Old Time Dance, an event that has been Increasingly popular each year. It was held In the First ward recreation hall, with resident resi-dent of every town in the county coun-ty participating. It was under the direction of a committee including includ-ing Mr. and Mrs. William Con-die Con-die and Mr. and Mrs. Alvln Spencer of Cedar City; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Munford, Cedar Val ley, and Mr. and Mrs. Ivor Jones of Enoch. Friday night, New Year's Eve, there will be activities for all. A basketball game between the Cedar and Parowan high school teams, and the annual Chamber of Commerce banquet will start the evening's activities, followed follow-ed by the Chamber of Commerce Ball, a priesthood dance at the Fourth ward, the Elks annual New Year's party, and a teen-age party at the canteen. |
