Show Needs Felt For U. S. Government Purchase of Wool (Evidence that the government should be making plans preparatory prepara-tory to purchasing the entire domestic do-mestic wool production continues to accumulate. An article by S. W. 'Doc' Mc-Clure Mc-Clure in the April issue of the "National "Na-tional Wool Grower" magazine points out, with his usual clarity, that under un-der the present system of wool marketing mar-keting the grower cannot ever obtain ob-tain the full celling value without either having the full cooperation of the entire wool trade or the liandllng of the entire clip by co- operatives. He state that 'as the situation now stands It is a mess" and that "sooner or later the government gov-ernment must take over the clip, appraise it, and pay the grower the appraised price." Another article in the same issue is-sue mentions that the U. S. Tariff Commission has recently completed complet-ed a study of wool control, that 13, price ceilings and price differentials differen-tials versus government control and H advises that it would be advisable I for the government to purchase the tj domestic clip and the available foreign supply of raw wool with H the recommendation that since it h will take some time to prepare for 1 such action, preliminary steps should jl be taken as soon as practicable.
