Show High School Notes -by LaDawn Riddle--CHS- L&st week was spent in clever campaigning by the Arrows and Blitzkrelg parties. Both parties were made up ot outstandii tudent and the race was close. Results of the election last Friday are as fol-llows: fol-llows: Haymer Morris, president; Elaine Leigh, vice president; Dorothy Dor-othy Gardner, secretary; Nella Bryant Bry-ant and Merl Prince, senior representatives; repre-sentatives; Onda Miller and Earl Merryweather, Junior representatives. representa-tives. We know that another successful suc-cessful year Is ahead of us for wltn such splendid student body officers, offic-ers, It would be Impossible to have anything else. Officers have been chosen for the Cedarctte club. Those who will be our leaders next year are: LaFawn Crosby, president; Jane Urle, vice president; Shirley Young, secretary; secre-tary; Mary Manning, song leader; Iona Roundy, senior representative; representa-tive; and Chlorls Bowman, Junior representative. These girls all have ability as leaders and will make our Girls Club of next year Just as effective as it has been this year. -CH3- A llit of those who participated in the Music Festival from Cedar high are; Jr. High Band with 65 members, mem-bers, Jr. High School Girls Chorus with 33 members, High School Band with 40 members, High School Orchestra Or-chestra with 40 students and the High School Chorus with 38 members. mem-bers. Solos given were by Jay Thor-lcy, Thor-lcy, cornet; John Manning, clarinet; Robert Parry and Robert Bradshaw, violin; Arlene Barlow, piano; Helen Hel-en Grace Bateman, flute solo; Jay Bowen and Charles Paul, drum; and Miriam Bradshaw. cello solo. We were very pleased with the results of the Music Festival. Some of their outstanding performances perfor-mances have been "What A Life," "The Story of a Dead Woman," "All But The Truth," and "A Box of Trouble," -CHS- Home Projects will be sponsored by the Cedur City High School from June 1st to July 10th. All girls in the 9th grade and above are eligible eligi-ble to participate In this course. If there are any Interested who have not heard about this course, they may register with Miss Sandberg, Home Economics teacher, at the Home Economics Department. The tea held Wednesday, May 6, proved to be unusually interesting. It was sponsored by the Home Making Department under the direction dir-ection of MLss Sandberg. Honored guests were the mothers of the senior sen-ior high girls and the ninth grade girls. The program, consisted of a display of the dresses made by the girls of this department. Demonstrations Demonstra-tions and exhibits were also given by a New York stylist, Mary Omen. It was through the help of the J. C. Penney Company that we were able to present Miss Omen at our school. An added event was the installation in-stallation of the new Cedarette officers of-ficers for the coming year. |
